We’re recruiting for an Electronics Engineer / Senior Electronics Engineer to join an established engineering business developing specialist electronic instrumentation for global markets.

This is a hands-on R&D position where you’ll take ownership of electronics development from initial requirements and concept through PCB design, prototyping, validation, approvals and manufacture.

Depending on experience, there is also scope to lead electronics workstreams and help influence future products and technology.

The Role

  • Analogue and digital electronic design
  • Schematic capture and PCB design/layout
  • Prototype development, testing and debugging
  • Product approvals, design validation and EMC compliance
  • DFM, DFT, FMEA and design-for-cost activities
  • Low-level firmware development and modification
  • Supporting products throughout the full development lifecycle
  • Working closely with firmware, software, mechanical and other engineering teams
  • Researching new technologies for future product development
  • Taking ownership of technical workstreams and engineering decisions

At Senior level, you may also mentor other engineers and contribute to the future technology roadmap.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of commercial electronics development experience
  • Strong schematic and PCB design experience
  • Analogue and digital electronics knowledge
  • Experience developing electronic products through to manufacture
  • Experience with testing, validation and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to EMC, product approvals or regulatory compliance
  • Ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of projects
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills

Experience with embedded C would be beneficial, although you do not need to be a dedicated Firmware Engineer.
