We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Domestic Team Leader to join our team at Parkview Care home. As the Domestic Team Leader you will supervise and support a team of Domestic Assistants, ensuring the cleanliness and homely environment of the residential home while meeting the needs and wishes of our residents. You will manage daily cleaning routines, oversee the team and ensure cleaning respects residents’ preferences and privacy.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support a team of Domestic Assistants, ensuring daily cleaning rotas are covered.
- Carry out cleaning duties with minimal disruption to residents’ daily routines.
- Involve residents in the cleaning process, respecting their rights and preferences when arranging their living spaces.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure all cleaning duties are completed, including managing routine and emergency cleaning situations.
- Manage cleaning supplies, order materials while ensuring budgetary limits are met and keep accurate records of materials, in line with COSHH regulations.
- Assist in the safekeeping of residents’ clothing and personal belongings.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and fire regulations at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information about residents, staff and the organisation.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach when interacting with others.
- Proven ability to supervise, train and motivate a team of Domestic Assistants.
- Flexible approach to work, with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Strong understanding of the needs of dependent older people.
- Ability to complete records in line with Avante Care & Support’s Quality Standards.
- Team player, with a focus on delivering a high standard of cleaning and service.
- Previous experience supervising domestic staff in a residential care setting is preferred.
