Make a difference every day — one meal at a time. Avante Care & Support is a well-established charity, supporting and enhancing the lives of over 1,000 older people across our nursing and dementia care homes. We’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Riverdale Court.

The Role

You’ll be a key part of creating enjoyable, nutritious mealtimes in a warm and caring environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepping fresh ingredients – fruits, veggies, and more
  • Helping serve meals and ensuring mealtimes are a warm, welcoming experience
  • Keeping the kitchen and dining areas spotless and safe
  • Supporting our Chef with meal planning, guided by the needs and preferences of our residents
  • Championing hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A kind, understanding nature – you’ll be working closely with older people
  • Enthusiasm for food and a willingness to learn
  • A true team player

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds or similar catering qualification
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, cultural diets, and nutrition
  • Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene
