Avante Care & Support is a well-established charity, supporting and enhancing the lives of over 1,000 older people across our nursing and dementia care homes. We’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Riverdale Court, Welling.
The Role
You’ll be a key part of creating enjoyable, nutritious mealtimes in a warm and caring environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepping fresh ingredients – fruits, veggies, and more
- Helping serve meals and ensuring mealtimes are a warm, welcoming experience
- Keeping the kitchen and dining areas spotless and safe
- Supporting our Chef with meal planning, guided by the needs and preferences of our residents
- Championing hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- A kind, understanding nature – you’ll be working closely with older people
- Enthusiasm for food and a willingness to learn
- A true team player
Desirable:
- City & Guilds or similar catering qualification
- Knowledge of food hygiene, cultural diets, and nutrition
- Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene
