Regional Maintenance Technician

Location: Across Avante locations – main base will be in a London care home.

Contract Type: Full-time 37 hours

Salary: Up to £28,415

We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Regional Maintenance Technician to lead and support day-to-day maintenance operations across our residential care homes.

As a Regional Maintenance Technician, you will deliver a wide range of maintenance services, from everyday repairs to property improvement projects. You’ll support on-site technicians, to ensure work quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out basic building repairs (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, lighting) and emergency maintenance
  • Support statutory checks and safety systems: fire alarms, water temp monitoring, PAT testing, etc.
  • Assist with redecoration, refurbishments, and furniture moves
  • Support the home management team with completion of COSHH inventories, various risk assessments, fire drills and related record keeping
  • Monitor grounds maintenance standards and contractor performance
  • Support internal health and safety compliance and documentation
  • Occasionally lead small projects or assist in special maintenance tasks
  • Maintain digital records and liaise effectively with home managers and technicians

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on experience in property maintenance and repairs
  • Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel as needed
  • Competent with IT systems and mobile work apps

Desirable

  • A trade qualification
  • Previous experience in care home or school environments
  • Familiarity with job costing, grounds maintenance, or supervising others
