Due to continued success, future business growth and expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our timber frame manufacturing and installation business Roof Profiles, based in Irvine, Scotland (KA12). Roof Profiles specialise in supplying timber frames for both social and private new build housing developments.
The Role

Joining our team as Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial function of the Roof Profiles business along with line management responsibility for the company Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will hold a recognised financial qualification; either CA, ACA or CIMA and will also be able to demonstrate relevant experience within a similar role.
Key duties and requirements
- Ensuring appropriate authorisations are obtained for the addition of new suppliers and payment runs.
- Maintaining the company business plan by liaising with the management team and updating estimates on a regular basis.
- Setting up new Supply and Fit contracts and liaising with the Construction Manager to set kit erectors targets, issue appropriate contracts and Health & Safety information to our clients.
- Issuing monthly valuations as required, ensuring all chargeable items are included.
- Ensuring statutory returns are made on time: PAYE, VAT, CIS, Pension re-enrolment etc.
- Chasing overdue valuation payments and maintaining a retention diary system.
- Ensuring appropriate Credit insurance cover is maintained.
- Adhering to the Group's finance reporting requirements.
- Issuing Monthly Management accounts with full balance sheet reconciliations, notes to accounts etc. to the management team and Group finance.
- Auditing and reviewing finance procedures to improve efficiency where possible.
- Ensuring all relevant departments are being effectively communicated with to ensure customer service and delivery requirements are met.
- Highlight any errors and omissions to avoid issues repeating.
The ideal candidate
To be successful as our Finance Manager, you will hold previous experience of working within a similar role; experience of working within the manufacturing or construction industry would also be advantageous. The successful candidate will be an established leader with a proven ability to manage and motivate direct reports. They will also be comfortable operating as a trusted business partner, providing commercially focused financial advice and insight to ensure cost efficiencies are continuously identified and implemented.
This is a full-time role (5 days per week); however, we would also welcome applications from candidates seeking a part-time opportunity (4 days per week). You will also possess:
- A recognised financial qualification i.e. CA, ACA or CIMA
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good working knowledge of Sage Line 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, SharePoint and the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
- Intermediate/advanced level Excel skills
- Enthusiasm and energy for the role.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
