Our Culture
We’re a small team with big ambitions, both for what we want to achieve and also the environment we’re building. We want to create a company that remains thoughtful as we scale and tries to be genuinely progressive in how we operate. We want people to really own what they do and be given the autonomy and freedom to make mistakes, learn, and create something meaningful. We all work incredibly hard because we care about what Avant Arte is here to do – we’re looking for exceptional people who are proactive, hungry to learn, and want to put their pride in our collective achievements. We know that creating an inclusive environment that promotes and values diversity is critical if we want to build something with impact and meaning. We believe that having diversity in age, background, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective will make us a better company. We were shortlisted for Women in Tech’s Best Employer - Small Company and Best Benefits, and Otta’s top 100 startups to work at.
What We Need
We are looking to add a skilled Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on front‑end, to our small but rapidly growing cross‑functional product team. You will be highly product minded and pro‑active in working with non-technical team members to lead on scoping, solution design and delivery of projects. The ability to do this with autonomy whilst asking the right questions at the right time is important as we are operating within small teams but building big capabilities. You will be driven by excellence with a proven track record in delivering well‑crafted software. You will be someone who can lead by example and help guide technical direction, best practices and ways of working to less senior or non-technical team members. You’re a highly motivated self‑starter with strong organisational, communication and planning skills. You will go the extra mile and think like a user to ensure that a feature or project drives real and best in class value to customers.
The core of your role will involve:
- Design and implementation of scalable and performant applications.
- Own code across our stack, with a strong focus on frontend (Don’t worry if backend is not your biggest strength).
- Work with less technical members of the team to translate complex business requirements into high and low level technical requirements and delivery strategy.
- Own and lead on the scoping, design and implementation of complex projects, flagging and resolving roadblocks or unforeseen problems by speaking with the right stakeholders.
- Take part in reviewing and optimising the team's processes to ensure we’re working at our best.
The skills and experience we’re looking for:
- You have extensive experience leading on the design and implementation of Next.js applications with complex statement management.
- You will have a strong understanding and experience designing and building secure and scalable APIs, ideally GraphQL but not essential.
- You will have a good understanding and experience having worked on backend services. Our backend services are written in Go and GRPC, experience in that stack is desirable but not essential.
- You have experience designing applications for and deploying onto a major cloud computing platform. We predominantly use GCP but any one of GCP, AWS or Azure is sufficient.
- (Desirable) You have Shopify, Liquid, and SQL/NOSQL experience.
Benefits include:
- Generous equity allowance
- Private Healthcare (UK)
- Enhanced pension contributions and parental leave policies
- 25 days of holiday plus four extra company wide days
- L&D budget of €1000 per year per employee
- Regular company socials
- Art loan scheme for employees
