Working Hours: 9am to 5.30pm (Inclusive of 1 hour lunch break), Monday to Friday

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA qualified with substantial experience working in an accountancy practice. This role is pivotal in managing client relationships, overseeing junior team members, and delivering high-quality financial and advisory services. This role offers to work with a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and reports for a variety of clients
- Manage and maintain client accounts and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax computations
- Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide financial advice
- Support directors with ad-hoc tasks and projects
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts
- Provide strategic financial advice to clients, including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and business planning
- Provide training and support to junior staff members
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Fully qualified ACCA/ACA
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS) and tax regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. TaxCalc, Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to clients
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
- Solid IT knowledge and adaptability to new technologies
Desirable:
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms and emerging technologies in the industry
