The role of Director, Business Development will include the following:
- Be accountable for an individual annual target selling to sponsor and biotech clients.
- Independently lead the sales process including planning and implementation of sales activities.
- Assist with identification of bid defense team participants. Educate team participants in client culture, operational needs/methods and sales techniques needed to close the sale.
- Independently identify accounts which have the potential to become global key accounts.
- Lead the preparation of Sponsor presentations (general capabilities and bid defense presentations).
- Understand and identify potential growth areas for Avania through market research and knowledge of competitive landscape.
The Director, Business Development is an individual contributor role, focused on new account wins and new business development and offers the opportunity to sell our market leading, full service capabilities and subject matter expertise in the exciting MedTech/device sector. We are hiring in either the United Kingdom or Europe (Spain, Germany and/or Netherlands).
Candidates who offer any combination of the skills, knowledge and experience listed below are encouraged to apply for the role of Director, Business Development:
- At least 5 years of Contract Research Organization (CRO) sales/commercial/client relationship experience with a proven record of accomplishment, of selling complex multi-service offerings combined with strategic thought and business acumen.
- A hunter and proven new business winner.
- Ability to independently lead regional sales strategy and process.
- Ability to provide VP with regular metrics.
- Demonstrate a proven record of business lead generation experience.
- An in-depth knowledge of 'How a CRO works' gained from working within a full service CRO.
