The Role

As a Seating Project Engineer, you will lead the design and development of seat structures, foams, trims, and mechanisms, ensuring compliance with ergonomic, safety, and durability requirements.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support CAD development, interface definition, and packaging studies.
  • Own the delivery of seating systems to program milestones (e.g., VP, Job 1).
  • Track engineering release schedules, cost targets, and weight metrics.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage tooling, prototype builds, and part approvals.
  • Support comfort assessments, occupant safety evaluations, and durability testing.
  • Drive resolution of technical issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Benchmark competitor seating systems and contribute to future feature strategy.
  • Interface with Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Studio Design teams.
  • Chair seating attribute reviews and negotiate trade-offs across functions.
  • Ensure alignment with global regulatory standards and customer expectations.
  • Manage the cost and weight of the system as per vehicle target.
