We are seeking an experienced, client-facing SAP Solution Architect to act as the primary SAP functional advisor and lead for one of our engagements with a large manufacturing customer, based out of the UK. The role will own day-to-day customer engagement, roadmap and solution architecture advice across business processes, partner with delivery to unblock technical/architectural gaps, and drive continuous improvement to adoption, stabilisation and value realisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main onsite SAP architecture point of contact for business stakeholders and the customer IT organisation; build trust and manage expectations proactively.
- Lead functional requirements discovery, business-process mapping, fit-gap analysis and solution architecture recommendations across priority areas (with deep focus on Order-to-Cash or Supply Chain Management, alongside Finance, Procure-to-Pay, or Manufacturing depending on customer).
- Translate customer business needs into actionable, scalable SAP designs and acceptance criteria; coordinate with technical architects, developers and integration teams to ensure fit-for-purpose delivery.
- Advise on SAP roadmap topics (S/4HANA readiness, release upgrades, cloud & integration strategy, central finance or consolidation patterns) and prepare business cases for proposed changes.
- Own incident/problem triage for major business-impacting SAP architecture issues until resolution, working closely with AMS, Basis, ABAP/Fiori, and cloud infra teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (process simplification, configuration optimisations, activation of standard SAP capabilities, process harmonisation) to increase stability and lower total cost of ownership.
- Support contract and commercial discussions by estimating effort, identifying scope risks and contributing to statements of work and renewals.
