The Senior Regulatory Business Analyst – E-Invoicing will lead analysis and delivery of regulatory initiatives related to electronic invoicing, digital tax compliance, and statutory reporting. The role requires deep regulatory understanding, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate complex regulatory mandates into scalable business and technology solutions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with UK and global e-invoicing regulations while enabling timely delivery of revenue-generating regulatory programmes.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead interpretation and analysis of e-invoicing and digital tax regulations, including HMRC VAT requirements, Making Tax Digital (MTD), and global e-invoicing mandates impacting UK entities.
- Own regulatory impact assessments, gap analysis, and solution definition for e-invoicing compliance initiatives.
- Translate regulatory obligations into detailed business, functional, non-functional, and data requirements.
- Drive end-to-end requirement traceability from regulatory mandate through system implementation and controls.
- Work closely with Finance, Tax, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to design compliant invoicing and reporting processes.
- Lead process re-engineering for invoicing, billing, VAT determination, and reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
- Define data validation rules, audit controls, exception handling, and reporting requirements.
- Support selection and implementation of e-invoicing platforms, RegTech solutions, and ERP integrations.
- Oversee and support UAT, regulatory validation, and production readiness activities.
- Act as a key point of contact during audits, internal reviews, and regulatory or tax authority interactions.
- Mentor junior BAs and provide governance over regulatory documentation standards.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- 10–15 years of Business Analysis experience in regulatory, tax, or finance transformation initiatives.
- Strong hands-on experience with e-invoicing, digital VAT, or tax compliance programmes.
- Deep understanding of invoicing, billing, VAT lifecycle, and financial reporting processes.
- Proven experience translating regulatory mandates into scalable system and data solutions.
- Strong documentation and governance experience (BRDs, FRDs, regulatory mappings, data lineage).
- Ability to lead complex regulatory change initiatives in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Exposure to global e-invoicing frameworks (EU, PEPPOL, LATAM CTC models, Middle East) impacting UK organisations.
- Experience with SAP / Oracle / Dynamics and e-invoicing or tax engines.
- Knowledge of regulatory controls, audit frameworks, and compliance reporting.
- Experience in Agile, hybrid, or large regulatory programme delivery.
