The Project Manager – Data Governance & BCBS 239 will lead end-to-end delivery of regulatory programmes focused on BCBS 239 (Risk Data Aggregation and Reporting) and enterprise data governance. The role is responsible for driving regulatory compliance, managing complex stakeholder environments, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of data governance initiatives across risk, finance, and technology functions. This role is critical for meeting regulatory commitments, improving data quality, and strengthening risk reporting capabilities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage BCBS 239 implementation programmes, including planning, execution, governance, and regulatory milestones.
  • Own programme delivery across data governance, data quality, lineage, controls, and reporting remediation initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Risk, Finance, Compliance, IT, Data Office, and Architecture.
  • Establish and manage programme governance, RAID logs, regulatory dependencies, and delivery reporting.
  • Drive delivery of BCBS 239 principles including data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, adaptability, and traceability.
  • Oversee implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
  • Manage regulatory commitments, remediation plans, and responses to regulator findings and reviews.
  • Ensure alignment between business requirements, data architecture, and technology implementation.
  • Track programme risks and issues, ensuring proactive mitigation and escalation.
  • Support regulatory interactions, audits, supervisory reviews, and internal assurance activities.
  • Manage third-party vendors and system integrators where applicable.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • 10–15 years of experience in Project / Programme Management within banking or financial services.
  • Proven track record delivering BCBS 239 and/or large-scale data governance regulatory programmes.
  • Strong understanding of risk data, regulatory reporting, and data management principles.
  • Experience managing complex regulatory remediation and supervisory-driven initiatives.
  • Strong governance, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience delivering programmes in waterfall, Agile, or hybrid models.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience working with FCA / PRA regulatory expectations related to data and risk reporting.
  • Exposure to data management tools (data quality, lineage, metadata, controls).
  • Knowledge of risk domains (Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Stress Testing).
  • Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or similar).
