The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.

Provide technical input into all stages of the change lifecycle, including estimating, high-level design support, creating detailed designs, development, testing and code reviews. Working as part of a team assisting in the evolution of the payments Middleware Integration Platform to keep fit for the future, support changing requirements and working practices in a fast-changing technology landscape.

Identifying, implementing or suggesting changes that improve service to customers. Engage and build relationships with business users and technical stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues. Bring experience and platform knowledge to bear on complex integration tasks, identifying technical risk, working with architects and developers to mitigate this risk using architecture spikes and proofs-of-concept. Working with key stakeholders across business and technical domains. Working as part of a wider team to share best practice.

Maintain an understanding of Payment industry strategies and best practice. Ensure the closure of technical knowledge gaps (which if remained open would hinder issue resolution and change delivery).

We need you to have:

  • A proven track record with at least 8+ years of in-depth experience in integration technologies (IBM WMB / IIB / ACE) at an enterprise scale with a working knowledge of Java and/or C#.
  • Experience of working with multiple transport protocols (MQ, HTTP/REST, FTP, DB, etc) and messaging formats (CWF, JSON, SOAP/XML, etc).
  • In depth knowledge and significant practical experience of defining and performing code reviews to drive software standards and best practices.
  • SDLC/Dev Ops - Git, CI/CD pipeline frameworks such as Jenkins/TFS, SonarQube, NexusIQ.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Agile development (Scrum, Kanban) using tools such as Jira with a strong grasp of automation, continuous integration (CI/CD), test-driven development (TDD) using RIT as well as continuous refactoring.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential:

  • In-depth knowledge of an Object Orientated language such as Java or C#.
