Overview
Avalon Television are looking for an exceptional Edit Producer with funny bones to join the team on an exciting new comedy entertainment pilot for Channel4. Initially for two weeks in September, with the potential for 14weeks from the end of October/November. Created by the team behind Taskmaster, this ambitious new play‑at‑home format requires a highly collaborative and skilled Edit Producer who is able to think inventively, embrace the unpredictable nature of the gameplay, and build a compelling narrative from the twists, turns and results along the way.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Editor and Senior Editorial team to take assemblies through to a polished pilot from gameplay, actuality and contributor‑led material.
- Balance laugh‑out‑loud comedy with genuine warmth, high tension and emotional payoff.
- Build a clear, pacey, and visually engaging narrative from a rich mix of gameplay and actuality.
- Help establish the series tone by finding, and at times creating, memorable comedic moments.
- Write scripts and commentary where required.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in comedy shows, competition formats and obs doc entertainment.
- Ability to weave comedy with jeopardy, warmth and heart.
- Experience working on large volumes of material from a fixed‑rig set‑up.
- Confidence to work closely and collaboratively with senior creatives.
- Ability to remain calm, organized and solutions‑focused in a fast‑paced edit environment to deliver an ambitious, high‑quality pilot.
