The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 £ per hour.

As services that operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year, our Clarence Gardens and Cypress Road services in Wakefield (West Yorkshire) offer essential respite care for adults with autism, learning disabilities, and/or physical disabilities. We’re looking for Support Workers to be primarily based at the respite services, with opportunities to work across the wider Avalon services in West Yorkshire. Candidates must be able to reliably travel within the Wakefield area.

Employment Details

  • Shifts are varied and full‑time, part‑time, and casual contract options are available.
  • Expect to work split shifts (7am‑11am and 2pm‑10pm).
  • Flexibility is key for this role.

Role Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you’ll be part of an experienced and passionate team delivering vital support to our customers, including personal care and administration of medication. In this Short Breaks service, your support will also be providing valuable respite for our customer’s friends and family.

Requirements

You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications – we’re looking for compassionate, driven, and caring individuals who are enthusiastic about making a difference to people’s lives and delivering the highest possible quality of care. Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate.

Compensation

Hourly rates start at £12.27 with enhanced rates for weekends and nights, plus paid mileage and lots of great benefits. Our charity is over 30 years old, providing you with a secure role and scope to develop.
