Avalon Group is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Shared Lives Registered Manager to lead and grow our CQC Shared Lives Services. Shared Lives supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues or other needs that may make independent living a challenge. People are matched with approved carers who provide accommodation and support, allowing them to live in a homely environment, either long term, for short breaks or for day support.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operations within the service. As an inspiring leader, you will support and develop the team including Shared Lives Carers, enabling high‑quality, personalised support. You will proactively develop the service through raising awareness of the Shared Lives Service locally and regionally and drive the recruitment, engagement and development of Shared Lives Carers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a high‑quality Shared Lives service that supports people to live fulfilling lives as independently as possible.
  • Providing leadership to ensure Shared Lives carers have the support they need to carry out their roles safely and effectively in line with Avalon policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring legislative and regulatory requirements are met, as well as sector best practice and organisational policy and procedures.
  • Growing the service to support more people and a wider range of support needs.

An extensive knowledge of adult social care legislation and Care Quality Commission requirements is desirable, along with a shared passion for the ethos of Shared Lives. We’re looking for someone who will bring infectious enthusiasm and creativity to championing the Shared Lives model — inspiring others, telling compelling stories, and showcasing the life‑changing impact of Shared Lives to attract carers and engage stakeholders.

We are a charity led by our purpose: everything we do is to help people to live fulfilling lives, however they choose. So, if you are a Registered Manager looking for a challenging and rewarding job opportunity and you are aligned to our values, we would love to hear from you. Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate.
