Avalon Group is an award-winning social care charity dedicated to enabling people to live fulfilling lives, however they choose. We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a fixed term maternity cover for 12 months.
Reporting to the Head of People, you will play a key part in the Charity’s strategic and cultural journey. The role is based at our Head Office in Harrogate, however we support agile working and there will be opportunities to work from home. There may also be a requirement to travel to our locality offices when necessary so access to a vehicle that can be used for work purposes together with a full valid driving licence is essential due to the location of some of our offices.
It is essential you are an experienced operational HR Advisor with a strong knowledge of UK employment law, providing practical, solution focused advice on general HR and People matters, with a background in supporting managers with Employee Relations and case work. You will be the go‑to person for managers to provide expert advice and support in relation to HR policies and procedures and ensuring they are implemented.
You will work across the full spectrum of HR activities which includes recruitment and onboarding. You will need to have a can‑do attitude, and be comfortable with rolling up your sleeves to support any of the People Team’s activities. Ideally you will be CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent although not essential.
