Overview
Avalon are recruiting for a Senior Housing Manager with very strong housing benefit experience on a remote basis for a supported housing provider. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day housing management operations, ensuring tenants receive a high-quality and efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Utilise extensive knowledge of housing benefit to provide accurate advice and guidance to residents and challenge local authorities
- Oversee all housing management activities, including income and referrals management
- Monitor managing agent\’s performance against KPIs and implement performance improvement plans when needed
- Resolve complex tenancy management issues, such as anti-social behaviour (ASB) and tenancy breaches
- Provide guidance to managing agents on tenancy management issues
- Support the income team and liaise with credit control to ensure timely payments
- Produce regular reports on housing management, income performance, and referrals
- Report to the Head of Operations and work with the Managing Agent to deliver key services; the role is self-sufficient with no dedicated administrative support
- Salary: £50,000 per annum
- Work Arrangement: A remote-based position with an opportunity to work in a Head Office should it be requested
- Progression: The role involves contributing to the review of the Intensive Housing Management service and wider improvement plans
Requirements
- Qualifications: CIH qualified to Level 3 or above is desired, along with other relevant housing management qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a housing association is essential, with a proven track record of delivering performance improvement plans. Experience working with Intensive Housing Management models and knowledge of Housing Benefit regulations are essential
- Skills: Must champion putting tenants at the heart of the service, with excellent contract management and communication skills. Strong report-writing and stakeholder management skills are essential
- Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate will be resilient, reliable, and highly self-motivated with a \”can-do\” attitude
