The Marketing department’s strategic objective is to provide marketing, digital and social media support to our Talent Management, Live, TV Production and Distribution divisions. Focusing on campaign planning and management, content creation, reporting and analysis, data management, branding positioning, merchandise and licensing, the aim is to maximise income and outreach for our talent and brands. The vast combined knowledge of our twelve-member team contributes to the success of our division and is continuously looking at new and creative ways to enhance our talent and brands' exposure.
Key Responsibilities
You will work in the Marketing department in the creation of graphic assets and occasionally promotional video/trailer content for Avalon Promotions’ marketing campaigns, across our live theatre, stand-up comedy shows and TV productions. The role will require creative thinking and an ability to work on several high-profile accounts simultaneously. This role will suit someone with a natural flair for graphic design, who is looking to grow their creative and technical skills whilst working on some of the most notable comedy and entertainment brands in the UK including: Taskmaster, the hit TV show, the Olivier and Tony Award-Winning Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical, the award-winning podcast brand Shagged.Married.Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey plus numerous global comedy stars including Russell Howard, Rose Matafeo, Ed Gamble and Iain Stirling.
Reporting to the Head of Creative, this role will include:
- The creation of graphic design marketing assets for our live shows and TV productions, from the storyboard stage through to full design and campaign roll-out.
- Re-versioning approved artwork for multiple print and digital derivatives.
- Assist in the creation of marketing decks for our global Sales/Distribution team.
- When required, create simple motion graphics assets for our live shows and TV productions, for use in digital advertising and social media.
- When required, assist in the production of promotional video content from the ideation stage, through to video editing, optimising for social media formats.
Specific Duties
Main Focus:
- Design advertising and promotional assets for live tours and shows, TV productions, merchandise and occasionally other areas of the business.
- Re-version approved artwork for all campaign derivatives, working to deadline.
- Pitch creative ideas to talent and talent managers and work collaboratively to develop content for marketing and press campaigns.
Sometimes required:
- Develop and present graphic design work for live tours and shows, with the support of the Head of Creative.
- Develop original digital video content ideas for marketing campaigns and social media exploitation.
- Provide creative and production assistance with photo or video shoots with talent (occasionally out of office hours).
- Support the content team with graphics for promotional videos and trailers.
- Make edits to video and animation content when needed.
About You
- Creativity skills: Skilled at creating and developing concepts for campaigns. Have a keen awareness of current trends in advertising and graphic design.
- Graphic design skills: Experienced in graphic design and confident with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (Premiere and After Effects also desirable).
- Passion: A passion for comedy, the arts and/or live entertainment.
- Communication and presentation skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal) and confident presentation skills when pitching ideas to talent or talent managers.
- Organisation: Keep track of deadlines, deliver clear and organised files, and follow team processes to ensure smooth workflow.
- Interpersonal skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are key with a clear creative vision, while remaining open to others’ ideas.
- Video Production: Experience with video editing, and experience working with Premiere Pro video software is also desirable.
