We're exploring and validating generative AI use cases across our products to reduce friction in end‐to‐end workflows and improve how work gets done. This shifts the experience from standalone tools to human‐led / AI‐assisted workflows, where AI helps users move faster through repetitive steps – while keeping people accountable and in control. You'll help to define the UX principles, patterns, and design strategy that make this collaboration efficient, auditable, and trusted, and turn it into shipped experiences that improve cycle time, quality, and consistency. This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, and can take discovery through to delivery with measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across one or more complex digital products, creating user‐centred experiences that balance user needs, scientific rigour, compliance requirements, and business goals.
- Shape business process innovation with AI by translating ambiguous problem spaces into prototypes, experiments, and shipped increments – partnering with Product and Engineering to move from feature UX to system‐level interaction design – deliver impactful digital experiences.
- Contribute to and help to evolve the design system to enable scalable, consistent, and high‐quality experiences across products and client solutions.
- Lead discovery and evaluative testing for one or more AI experiences (concept testing, usability, preference tests, workflows‐in‐context) and turn insights into clear, actionable design decisions.
- Translate complexity into clear user journeys, workflows, prototypes, and interface designs that support confident decision‐making and efficient delivery.
- Design for trust and transparency, building UX guardrails and governance into the experience through collaboration with Legal/Compliance, InfoSec, and domain experts.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methods, tools, and team ways of working, adopting new approaches where they strengthen outcomes.
- A clear focus on strengthening product thinking, interaction design, AI UX craft and workflow optimisation in everything they do – contributing to an experimental, evidence‐driven design culture.
About You
- 5+ years product design experience favouring complex enterprise web applications, with 2+ years in a Senior capacity.
- Familiarity with AI UX concepts, and experience designing GenAI features beyond chat interface.
- Ability to articulate and design for trade‐offs between helpfulness, safety, latency, and accuracy.
- Strong interaction design skills for complex workflows, and a proven ability to simplify without dumbing down.
- Confident research practitioner: plan and conduct workshops, synthesise insight, and influence decisions through evidence.
- Excellent cross‐functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Experience in regulated/high‐trust domains.
- An outstanding portfolio demonstrating all of the above.
Education Level and Qualifications
- Degree in design, psychology, business, statistics, human‐computer interaction (HCI), related field or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Experienced product design skills is required, 5+ years.
