Avalara is looking for a Senior Director of Enterprise Sales to lead our UK Enterprise Sales team. Based in London, this role is a critical leadership position responsible for building and coaching a team of Enterprise Sales Executives focused on acquiring net-new enterprise customers in the UK market.
You will have experience leading successful enterprise sales teams in a high-growth SaaS business, selling solutions that integrate with ERPs. Knowledge of the ERP ecosystem, ideally Oracle, is required. This role is a hybrid work schedule from London and you will report to our General Manager of International Operations.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- You will lead a team of Enterprise Sales Executives focused on new logo acquisition in the UK.
- You will set and drive a strategic sales plan aligned with Avalara’s enterprise revenue goals.
- You will coach the team to build deep customer relationships, execute complex enterprise sales cycles, and close large, high-value deals.
- You will collaborate with pre-sales, marketing, product, and customer success and account management to support enterprise pipeline growth and deal execution.
- You will oversee accurate forecasting and pipeline management, ensuring predictability of performance and risk mitigation.
- You will promote a customer-centric selling culture focused on solving complex tax compliance challenges.
- You will represent Avalara at industry events, partner engagements, and at C-level meetings.
- You will attract and retain top sales talent, promoting career progression across your team, creating a bench for future leadership roles.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- Experience leading and coaching successful Enterprise new business sales teams, with a strong focus on outbound prospecting and net-new logo acquisition.
- Experience leading a team that sells third-party solutions that integrate with ERPs.
- Experience with ERP ecosystems, with experience selling into or partnering with Oracle.
- Experience with tax compliance/determination technology is desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
- Experience with performance management.
- Experience presenting to and influencing C-level executives and key stakeholders.
- Experience with strategic planning with hands-on execution capability.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
