Responsibilities
Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Secure loads appropriately on lorries to prevent damage during transit.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that may occur.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Assist with loading and unloading cargo as necessary, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Skills
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain lorries.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for delivery drivers.
Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with local routes.
Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
A valid commercial driving licence (C+E) is essential for this role.
