About The Role
The Marketing Associate plays a pivotal role in helping Avado build a vibrant, active, and engaged learner community, and in producing the video, written and event content that brings the Avado brand to life. This role is ideal for a confident, creative individual who is energised by engaging with learners, enjoys speaking on camera, writes with clarity and brand sensitivity, and is happy representing Avado face-to-face at industry events. You’ll bring the Avado brand to life across Avado Connect (our community platform), social channels, regular webinars, the blog, our newsletter and our in-person event presence, while supporting the wider marketing team on brand awareness and lead generation goals. Equally importantly, you will align with our organisational values, which were defined by our people for our people, clients, learners, and partners.
What you’ll do
- Community Engagement & Platform Experience: Growing engagement and interaction on Avado Connect through creative content, discussions, polls, interviews, and community-driven features. Acting as a key stakeholder in the development and optimisation of Avado Connect to enhance the learner experience. Sharing content that encourages collaboration, questions, peer connection and active participation. Representing Avado organically within partner communities (e.g. HR Ninjas) through white papers, discussion contributions and soft content-led engagement.
- Blog, Newsletter & Written Content: Writing engaging, on-brand blog posts tailored to Avado’s learners and professional audience, in line with SEO briefs provided by the Performance Marketing Executive. Writing and producing our regular newsletter, including content planning, copy and layout. Applying on-page SEO best practice (metadata, structure, internal linking) to blog and website content you produce. Repurposing longer-form content (webinars, events, thought-leadership) into social posts, newsletter features and community prompts.
- Video & Creative Content Production: Briefing, ideating, scripting and appearing in both long-form and short-form video content for social channels, campaigns and the learner community. Recording to-camera content for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and Avado Connect, staying ahead of digital trends. Creating visually appealing content using tools such as Canva, CapCut and AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) to support campaign and community activity. Producing evergreen YouTube video content (e.g. 'What is CIPD?', Level 3/5 introductions) for use across our website and nurture flows. Briefing and reviewing externally produced video content (UseClip UGC, freelance creators) against agreed scripts and brand standards.
- Webinars & Community Events: Owning our webinar calendar end-to-end, including the monthly Amanda Chadwick partnership series and lower-funnel formats such as 'meet the team' and qualification introductions. Running, hosting and supporting webinars and virtual events that drive learner engagement and value. Working with stakeholders to shape themes, identify speakers and plan engaging event formats. Managing end-to-end webinar processes, including Eventbrite setup, HubSpot landing pages, Zoom configuration, attendee import and post-event repurposing. Tracking referral leads from partner webinar landing pages (e.g. Amanda Chadwick) against agreed commission structures.
- In-Person Events: Coordinating Avado’s presence at major industry events, including CIPD ACE, CIPD Festival of Work, HRSE KSA, HRSE Dubai and UK Careers Fairs. Managing logistics for each event: liaising with organisers and approved booth-build partners, completing health & safety declarations, and tracking event payments. Designing the booth using existing templates, submitting artwork to the approved supplier, and printing additional leaflets and branded clothing in advance of each event. Attending events to represent Avado on the booth, capturing leads and manually importing event leads into HubSpot with correct channel tagging. Producing pre- and post-event content (teasers, on-the-day social, wrap-up posts) across our social channels and Avado Connect.
- Collaboration & Growth Marketing Support: Supporting the Performance Marketing Executive on brand awareness and lead-generation activities, including creative for paid and partner campaigns. Working closely with the wider marketing team to ensure content is cohesive, high impact and aligned with campaign goals. Bringing creative ideas that help Avado stand out across social media, community platforms and events.
- Data, Insights & Continuous Improvement: Tracking and reporting on community engagement, video content performance, webinar activity and event lead volumes (training provided). Applying insights and learner feedback to improve content, community and event activity. Remaining curious and up to date with video, social, written content, community platform and event marketing trends.
What we’re looking for
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, English or a related field. Previous internship or freelance experience in social media, community management, video content, content writing, events or marketing is a plus.
- Attitude: Eager to learn, grow and take ownership of your work. A natural community-builder who enjoys bringing people together. Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Proactive, curious and excited to explore new ideas.
- Skills & Traits: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in community, event and partner settings. Strong written English with a feel for brand voice, able to flex tone across a TikTok caption, a blog intro and a webinar email. Familiarity with social media platforms (especially TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn) and awareness of digital trends. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, partners and event deadlines in parallel. Confident on camera and in person, with a strong, engaging presence. Experience or interest in creative tools such as Canva, CapCut or similar. Comfortable using AI tools for content creation and ideation. Willingness to travel internationally for events (primarily to the Middle East for HRSE KSA and Dubai).
