Lead the execution of the testing & commissioning for our client by following all best practices with respect to the Health and safety requirements. Prepare the necessary commissioning organisation as sold out to the end user in order to carry out the testing & commissioning of the complete HVDC System as per the project planning, documented process description and procedures.

Continuous interactions with Commissioning Managers assigned to the project, experts from PDG Product line to carry out the site works effectively, and with the counterpart position in the Client organisation. Ensure strict protocols are agreed with Construction Managers and Installation teams to ensure smooth turnover on primary (HV & MV) and secondary (LV & C&P) equipment installation, with a particular focus on HVDC equipment like Valves, DC Current transformers, etc.

Co-ordination of diverse commissioning teams and commissioning engineers from GSI, PDG, Products (Transformers, GIS, Reactors, Disconnecting switches, etc.). Testing & Commissioning of EHV / HV AIS & GIS substations and Offshore Topside auxiliary systems. On Auxiliary systems, ensure commissioning & trouble shooting like battery, battery charger, UPS, DG, LVS, Firefighting, HVAC etc is undertaken to correct standards.

Control & Protection networks, IEDs, relay configuration and testing of different substation configurations and schemes. Telecoms commissioning. HMI and Scada commissioning. Drafting and organising the Overall commissioning of an HVDC Grid Connection System (Onshore and Offshore) with necessary overall procedures including integration of Offshore Topside Auxiliary systems, Unmanned test procedure for the Offshore Platform, and Trial Run program before handing over of the Grid Connection System to the End User.

Reporting Site testing & commissioning progress to Project Manager and GSI Management Team and controlling the associated budget. Control the validation process of the Commissioning Test Reports. Commissioning personnel and ensure efficient use of the commissioning assets like Test kits, Tools etc. Control the Handing over procedure of the Marked-up drawings to Engineering for preparing the As-build drawings and onward submission to customer to smooth close. Prior experience in working with HVDC systems would be advantageous. Good experience on fault findings, analyzing DR / TFR data.

Continuous learning & acquiring expertise in testing & commissioning of HVDC system to achieve a higher growth in ‘learning curve’.

Your Background

Extensive and demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role. You should have a good background of education in HV Power networks topology, operation, and faults. Knowledge in Control & Protection / Substation / Automation system design is a real advantage. Prior experience in using and reading Omicron test kits and reports. Experience in reading and validating specific tests on HV equipment (Tan-delta, SFRA, DCRM etc.) Experience with HV AC cables (up to 400kV) and experience with DC Cables (including submarine cables). Exposure to HVDC/FACTS systems. Experience in Contract document review and technical tender estimation or bidding. Good knowledge of Office tools.

Training & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or B.E in Electric Engineering. Capable of undertaking GWO training for Offshore works certification. Leadership training skill to manage consequent teams of personnel with different knowledge, culture and diversity.
