The Opportunity: This is a great position for an Audio Visual Design and Commissioning Engineer to work for a successful Audio Visual Technology Integrator, ideally based in Bucks. You will be responsible for designing solutions to meet the customers' requirements. Part of this process will involve creating technical drawings and writing up the functionality of the system in order to make up part of the proposal documentation.

Another aspect of your responsibilities will involve being on hand for the sales team to provide them with technical support during the sales process, carry out site surveys to ensure all aspects of the customers' requirements are met and the solution proposed technically fits the environment, and specifying the correct amount of labour required to carry out the installation successfully. An element of project management may be required in this role, as you will often be expected to attend project meetings and ensure installations are carried out to a high standard and handed over to the client in a professional manner.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design and commission Audio-Visual solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Producing an equipment list of everything required for the solution specified.
  • Produce schematics and technical documentation.
  • Attending meetings with business development managers, acting as a technical expert.
  • Using control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC and AMX) initial Commissioning AV over IP systems with network configs.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a customer facing role.
  • Good knowledge of AV technologies, including Digital Signage, VC and UC.
  • An ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff across all levels in a way that is easy to understand.
  • High quality written and verbal communication.
  • Competent in MS Office and Visio.
  • Able to produce accurate schematics/technical drawings from customer requirements.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to timescales, often working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advantageous: CTS, CTS-D or CTS-I qualification. ECS certification. Previous experience in an AV/IT role.
