The Opportunity
As an Audio Visual Commissioning Engineer at this award winning integrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that audio-visual solutions are flawlessly integrated, thoroughly tested, and fine-tuned to meet clients' unique requirements. You will collaborate closely with design, installation, and project management teams to ensure that every AV system is fully optimized, dependable, and user-friendly. Work will be both a mixture of in-house and works on customers' premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Commissioning: Execute comprehensive system commissioning and testing to setup and verify the functionality and performance of audio-visual systems, including video conference systems (MTR, Zoom Rooms, etc.), control systems, displays, audio equipment, room booking systems, digital signage and more.
- DSP Programming: Program and optimise DSP units to achieve the desired audio quality, ensuring proper signal routing, equalization, noise reduction, and delay management. (eg QSC, Biamp, Extron, etc)
- Quality Assurance: Perform testing and quality assurance checks to guarantee that the AV systems meet the highest industry standards and deliver the required performance.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, designers, and installation teams to ensure a smooth transition from system installation to commissioning. Collaborate directly with clients to understand their specific needs and address any concerns or inquiries to ensure their complete satisfaction.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to AV systems to minimize downtime and ensure that systems consistently operate at their peak.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, IP and MAC addresses, commissioning procedures, etc to support system programming, operation and maintenance.
The role is a Hybrid one but you will mainly be on site in the South of England, so location would ideally be West of London. An excellent salary doe/neg. circa £50k p.a. plus car or car allowance and excellent benefits.
Your skills and experience:
- Proven experience in commissioning and optimising audio-visual systems, including, but not limited to, audio DSP, UC systems, digital signage solutions, LED and videowall setup.
- Strong Network skills and familiarity with networking concepts and protocols relevant to AV systems. (Dante, AVoIP, Multicast, etc)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex AV issues.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of work quality.
- Full UK driving licence is essential for site visits.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and IT departments.
