This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and successful technology company as a CCTV Installation Engineer. You will work as part of a mobile team, on a night-time shift pattern, installing structured fibre and copper cabling, wi-fi access points, and high-level bracket mounted IP CCTV cameras. Providing a best-in-class swimming pool safety solution through reliable connectivity, robust infrastructure, and precision installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing, building, and upgrading data rack cabinets
- Installing copper and fibre structure cabling systems to industry standard
- Installing CCTV systems, including cabling, hardware, monitors, and cameras
- Installing wi-fi and network hardware
- Evaluating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting systems or installations to identify and rectify any functionality problems or defects
- Maintaining, configuring, and repairing systems, hardware, and peripheral devices
- Testing systems, identifying issues, and making necessary modifications
- Understanding customer needs and providing advice, and an engineering service suitable to meet the customer needs in full
- Providing onsite customer service and support
- Communicating with customers and team colleagues as necessary, to provide a complete customer service on time and in full
- Training the customer representatives and other users on the system functionality

Health, Safety, Environment Quality Focus:
- Maintain detailed installation, inspection, and repair records, including asset tagging of all hardware for entry into Service and Support System
- Comply with the safety requirements, norms, and regulations throughout the installation and aftercare services, including method statements and RAMS
- All installation work to be quality controlled and each stage of the installation delivered to the highest standards
- Proper and safe use of tools, equipment, and PPE
Finance Focus:
- Care and attention to the effective and efficient use of materials, tools, and equipment
- Optimise the working hours to deliver each assignment to the best of your skills and abilities
- Flag any opportunities for improved ways of working
Based in Luton or St. Albans area, salary is £40k p.a. inclusive of night working rate, plus Team Van. The role will be predominantly night-shift within the period 8pm to 8am. Weekly working away from home will be a feature (Mon-Thur, home Fri). Standard contracted weekly working hours will be 42 hours. Travel and subsistence will be provided. Branded company vehicle + fuel card will be provided.
Your skills and experience:
- Relevant Electrical qualification, at least an NVQ Level 3 equivalent
- Experienced working at heights, scaffolding, ladders, automatic lifters
- Experience installing sub-bracketing using Channel Support Bracket
- Shift working, typically between 20:00 to 06:00
- Working as part of a 2-person, on-site Installation team
- Demonstrable ability to work in an organised and safe manner, maintaining the highest standards when unsupervised
- Installation of IP CCTV cameras and mounted brackets
- Mobile and flexible to working regionally with occasional cross-regional working
- Experienced in certified structured data cable installations
- Experienced in data rack building, termination, and data rate upgrade/tidying
- Able swimmer, the role will involve working on platforms erected over swimming pools
- IPAF 3a, 3b MEWP
- City Guilds Fibre Optic Cabling components and system
- ECS card preferably to Gold level
- CSCS card
- SMSTS
- CNCI certified
- UK driving licence
Desirable competencies / experience:
- Familiar with network switching
- Familiar with wi-fi technologies and access point installation
