The Opportunity
We are looking for a confident Commissioning Engineer who can take ownership of system bring-up across commercial AV projects. You will be commissioning VC rooms, configuring DSPs, and ensuring systems are handed over to a high standard - all in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Strong Q-SYS experience is a must. If you are also happy to roll your sleeves up and support installation work when needed, even better.
Key responsibilities:
- End-to-end commissioning of AV systems across corporate environments, with a focus on VC/UC rooms
- Q-SYS design, configuration, and programming - this is central to the role
- DSP tuning, mic configuration, and audio system optimisation
- Control system loading, testing, and fault resolution
- Network configuration and troubleshooting for AV-over-IP systems
- System testing against design documentation and client specifications
- Producing commissioning reports, snagging lists, and handover documentation
- Supporting installation teams on site where required - rack builds, second fix, terminations
Based ideally in London or Home Counties but with regular travel to European project sites (valid passport required).
Salary circa £50k-£56k p.a. doe/neg. plus pension and benefits.
Your skills and experience:
- 3+ years' experience in AV commissioning within commercial/corporate environments
- Strong, demonstrable Q-SYS experience (configuration, scripting, and deployment)
- Proven track record of commissioning VC/UC rooms end-to-end
- Solid understanding of AV signal flow, networking (VLANs, multicast, Dante), and common control platforms
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of system handover
- Familiarity with Crestron, Shure, and other major AV manufacturers
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport
- Flexible, reliable, and comfortable with regular travel across the UK and Europe
Desirable:
- QSC Level 2 certification or higher
- CTS-I certification
- Dante Level 2-3
- Experience with Crestron programming or Shure Systune/Designer
- Willingness to support installation work alongside commissioning duties
- IPAF/PASMA
