We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing residential development team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all cost and commercial aspects of residential projects, ensuring developments are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers exposure to a range of residential schemes, including new build housing developments, apartments, and mixed use residential projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of cost planning, cost control, and commercial management across residential projects
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
- Produce and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation
- Carry out procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis and negotiation
- Administer contracts (e.g. JCT forms), including variations, valuations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs against budgets and provide regular financial reporting
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, valuations, and commercial risks
- Manage and agree interim applications and final accounts with contractors
- Work closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure commercial alignment
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts
- Experience working on housing developments, apartments, or mixed-use residential schemes
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness
- Proficient in relevant QS software and Microsoft Excel
