A leading enterprise organisation is seeking a highly technical Security Engineer to support a major Secure Web Gateway migration from Skyhigh (McAfee Web Gateway) to Blue Coat (ProxySG / Symantec / Broadcom).
This role requires a true proxy engineer β someone with hands-on experience of SWG platforms who can translate policies, troubleshoot traffic flows, and own the migration workstream rather than follow scripted procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver Secure Web Gateway migration activities from Skyhigh to Blue Coat
- Translate and rebuild proxy policies, SSL inspection rules, and exceptions
- Troubleshoot authentication, traffic flow, and policy issues during cutover
- Work closely with network teams to manage traffic steering and proxy routing
- Support testing, validation, and optimisation of the new proxy platform
- Own assigned migration workstreams end-to-end
- Hands-on experience with Skyhigh Web Gateway and/or McAfee Web Gateway (MWG / CWS)
- Hands-on experience with Blue Coat / ProxySG / Symantec / Broadcom
- Strong understanding of Secure Web Gateway / proxy architectures
- Experience with:
- PAC files
- SSL/TLS inspection and bypass
- Proxy authentication (Kerberos / NTLM / headers)
- Explicit proxy traffic
- F5 or AVI load balancers
- Fortinet firewalls
- Bluecat DNS
- Enterprise network environments
- Highly technical and hands-on
- Able to work autonomously and own delivery
- Comfortable operating without step-by-step runbooks
- Experience in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments preferred
