The Opportunity

We are looking for confident, driven and personable Sales Representatives to join an established company that is the sole UK distributor of its product. This is a genuine field-based sales role, where you will spend your time on the road visiting independent shops, convenience stores and local retailers, building relationships with business owners and generating sales face-to-face. You won't be sat behind a desk making endless cold calls. You'll be out meeting customers, developing relationships and putting the product directly in front of shop owners. This role is more immediate and transactional, as you will carry stock in your van and sell directly to shops during your visits. Rather than simply taking an order, you will have the products available in the van for customers to purchase there and then.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Visiting independent shops and convenience stores
  • Building relationships with shop owners
  • Presenting and selling products face-to-face
  • Carrying stock in your van
  • Selling products directly from the vehicle
  • Identifying what each customer is likely to need
  • Maximising each customer visit
  • Taking payment/orders in line with company procedures
  • Managing stock levels within your vehicle
  • Developing your own customer base
  • Increasing repeat business and sales
  • Working towards sales targets

This position would suit someone who enjoys fast-paced, face-to-face sales and likes the idea of being responsible for both the customer relationship and the stock they are selling.

We're looking for people who are:

  • Confident and comfortable speaking to business owners
  • Naturally personable and good at building relationships
  • Commercially minded and motivated by sales
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Organised and able to manage their own diary/route
  • Resilient and able to deal with rejection
  • Target-driven without being overly pushy
  • Presentable and professional
  • Energetic and willing to be out on the road every day
  • Able to identify sales opportunities and convert them
  • Full of personality and confidence when dealing with customers

Essential Requirement

Previous field sales, van sales, FMCG, convenience retail, wholesale or B2B sales experience. You must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.

Why Join?

You'll be joining a business with a unique position in the UK market as the sole distributor of its product, giving you something different to take to customers rather than competing with a crowded marketplace. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Build your own territory
  • Develop genuine long-term customer relationships
  • Work independently and manage your own day
  • Earn additional money through commission/bonus
  • Work for a growing business with an exciting product
  • Progress your career within the sales team

The Person

Ultimately, we're looking for someone who likes people, likes selling and likes being out on the road. If you can walk into a corner shop, introduce yourself to the owner, start a conversation and turn that conversation into a sale, we want to hear from you.
