Salary: £52,000

Holidays: 33 days a year

Shifts: Monday - Friday Double Days (6-2 / 2/10). You will be required to work 1 in every 6 weekends with the following Monday and Tuesday off as rest days - Saturday 6:00am - 2:00pm and Sunday 7:00am - 3:00pm.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Team Leader looking to join a food manufacturing company based in Accrington? Ideally, you have experience managing a team of engineers and will have worked within a fast-paced manufacturing environment such as food or FMCG. You will play a key part in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

We are looking for a Team Leader with a proven track record in FMCG or Food Manufacturing to head up our shift engineering team. This isn't just a desk job; currently, 70% of the role is hands-on with the remaining 30% being office-based. We are looking for at least 2 years of experience managing engineers within a Food or FMCG environment.

You understand the pressure of 'line down' situations and have knowledge of food safety standards. You know how to motivate a shift team, manage handovers, and handle performance with a fair, consistent approach.

  • Team Leaders will have a multi-skilled background (Electrical/Mechanical) with a solid understanding of high-speed packaging machinery, conveyors, and food-grade compliance.
  • Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to drive improvements that enhance machine performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards at all times.
  • Accurately document all maintenance work and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Provide support for capital projects, new installations, and equipment upgrades as required.

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent - ideally apprentice trained.

Experience with electrical & mechanical maintenance - FMCG/food manufacturing.

Flexible, team-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
