An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Shift Technician to join the Engineering team at a well-established and growing food manufacturer based in Poole, Dorset.
This role offers the chance to work within a fast-paced production environment where reliability, quality and continuous improvement are at the heart of the operation.
- Shift Pattern
- 12-hour shifts
- 1.5 hours unpaid break per shift
- Average 36.75 paid hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery to maximise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults in a timely manner.
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed in line with food safety, GMP and hygiene standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reliability and sustainability.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, engineering standards and audit requirements.
- Accurately record maintenance activities using the site\'s CMMS and ensure effective communication during shift handovers.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and apprentices where required.
About You
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role, such as Engineering Shift Technician, Maintenance Engineer, or a similar position within manufacturing.
- A recognised engineering qualification, such as an HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent apprenticeship.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with both mechanical and electrical equipment.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience within food manufacturing is advantageous but not essential, applications from other automated manufacturing environments are welcomed.
