The Role:
As the Laser Cutting Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily operation of the laser cutting department, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead by example, supporting your team while working closely with production, planning, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth workflow and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day running of the laser cutting department.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Laser Cutting Operators and production staff.
- Allocate workloads and ensure production schedules are delivered safely and on time.
- Set up and operate laser cutting machinery as required, providing hands-on support to the team.
- Carry out first-off inspections and ensure components meet engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Monitor quality throughout production and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Identify production issues, minimise downtime, and drive improvements in efficiency.
- Work closely with Production Planning, Programming, Quality, and Operations teams to maintain workflow.
- Train, mentor, and support team members to maximise performance and development.
- Conduct return-to-work meetings, probation reviews, and day-to-day people management activities.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and promote a strong Health and Safety culture.
