Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to join a food manufacturing company based in Accrington? You will be electrically biased and have experience of working within a FMCG environment. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key part in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Offering a salary of c£44.5K to work Monday to Friday (Double Days).

Your role will involve:

  • Responsible for the effective repair, maintenance and improvement of the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic elements of the production plant.
  • To assist in the development of predictive and planned maintenance systems for all production equipment and the implementation of those systems.
  • Carry out daily routine checks; lubrication, PPM's.
  • Support the manufacturing process by responding in a timely manner to equipment breakdowns.
  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance work and being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults.
  • Fault find in an effective and efficient manner whilst utilising the various machines' relevant documentation.
  • Establish harmonious relations with the operational staff and engineering utilities team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Ensuring that machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
  • Train and motivate production teams to improve plant and equipment understanding.
  • To carry out all responsibilities and practices with the aim of producing food safely and to required internal & external specifications within a HACCP framework.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday (Week 1) 6am - 2pm (Week 2) 2pm - 10pm. One week in six you will be required to work a Saturday and Sunday but have the Monday and Tuesday off the following week. Saturday - 6am - 2pm, Sunday - 7am - 3pm.

Suitable Candidates:

  • Apprentice Trained Maintenance Engineer.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 ONC / HNC in Engineering - or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience with electrical & mechanical maintenance - FMCG manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
