We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a Shell & Core / CAT A refit project in Thurrock. This is an excellent opportunity to join an existing site team, on a project within a live retail setting, managing the delivery of works within an existing retail unit.
Working as part of a wider project team, and reporting to an on-site Project Manager, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the site on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve coordinating multiple trades, managing subcontractors, and maintaining clear communication with the on-site project manager to ensure smooth delivery throughout all phases of the project.

- Overseeing day-to-day site operations

- Driving programme delivery to meet project deadlines
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintaining strong health & safety compliance across site
- Liaising with clients and project teams

Requirements
- Previous experience delivering Shell & Core and retail fit-out projects
- Strong knowledge of site management and health & safety procedures
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred
- Strong communication and organisational skills
