Production Operator 2 – Farnborough temp-perm

Who are we: Auxitrol Weston Operating Unit (OU) consists of 3 manufacturing plants, Auxitrol SAS (France), Weston Aerospace Ltd (UK), Auxitrol Weston (Mexico), with 3 R&D departments in France, UK and Norwich Aero Products Inc (US) along with 3 repair capabilities in France, UK & Singapore. Weston Aerospace Ltd has approximately 175 employees at Farnborough whose responsibilities are to design and manufacture temperature, speed and pressure sensors for gas turbine and airframe applications. We have another smaller manufacturing site dedicated to analogue indicators, based in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire with 16 employees.

Role & Job Summary:

Primary Responsibilities

  • To be a member of a team responsible for the manufacture of products within one of the Esterline Advanced Sensors production cells.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture of new or existing products
  • Assist with the problem solving of new products prior to product ionisation
  • Provide NPI support
  • Identifying foolproof tooling requirements
  • Assist in the training of operators
  • Ensure documentation is correct and legible
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of problem solving techniques such as PDCA, cause and effect, 5 ‘whys’ (and other continuous improvement tools) and their application
  • Being able to influence quality improvements through technical innovation.
  • Liaising with the Engineering department.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

This grade requires someone who preferably has a formal engineering qualification or is able to demonstrate they have relevant experience. Staff in this grade will have experience in:

  • welding, soldering, or brazing
  • general assembly
  • knowledge of new product introduction
  • training of personnel.

Staff in this grade will have strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A high level of accuracy and quality of work is essential. Must have reached a minimum score of 135 during performance review.
