This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role for an ambitious FMCG business at an inflection point in its digital and eCommerce journey. You'll take ownership of the eCommerce strategy across multiple household-name brands, with a particular focus on scaling a newly launched proposition and integrated social commerce activation.
This isn't a role for someone who wants a settled remit. The business is evolving fast, and you'll need to be comfortable rewriting the plan as priorities shift, one week deep in performance marketing metrics, the next negotiating with a retail media partner, the next coaching your direct report through a launch. If you like structure and certainty, this probably isn't for you. If you thrive on ambiguity and enjoy building the plane while flying it, it will suit you well.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead multichannel eCommerce strategy across the UK, building annual plans with marketing, sales, and international teams, and reporting on performance and opportunity.
- Drive digital growth across omnichannel grocery retail, working closely with shopper marketing and key account teams to improve core metrics.
- Manage social and retail media investment, ensuring spend across performance channels is effective and measurable.
- Own and scale a newly launched DTC site, CRM, and operating model, merchandising, promotions, subscriptions, feeding learnings back into the wider business.
- Champion digital transformation across social platforms and emerging technologies including GenAI, building engaged communities and driving both online and offline sales.
- Act as a genuine agent of change within the organisation.
- Currently working in a marketing or ecommerce role, ideally having moved into that role from a commercial, sales, or key account background, someone who still thinks commercially and in P&L terms.
- Hands-on DTC and CRM experience; exposure to subscription models or challenger/insurgent brand building is a strong plus.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats, equally able to get into the detail of a CRM build and step back to present strategy to senior stakeholders.
- Proven people management experience, or clear evidence of the ability to coach and upskill a high-performing team member.
- A start-up or fast-growth mindset: low ego, high impact, comfortable challenging the status quo.
- Genuine resilience and adaptability, this role will change shape as the business does, and the right person will see that as the appeal, not the drawback.
