Autumnal Partners are partnering with a leading European buyout fund in their search for an interim FP&A analyst. This is a very interesting time to be joining as they are seeking to rebuild the financial planning and analysis function from the ground up. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in challenging roles where no two days will be the same and has a track record of building robust FP&A frameworks within financial services businesses. The successful contractor will take ownership of FP&A, creating structure, visibility, and credibility where limited infrastructure currently exists. You will work closely with senior leadership to establish reliable forecasting, reporting, and performance insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Rebuild FP&A models, processes, and datasets from scratch
- Develop integrated budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning models
- Create clear, value-add management reporting and KPI dashboards
- Improve data integrity across finance systems and source data
- Deliver variance analysis, scenario modelling, and commercial insight
- Support reporting requirements, board packs, and investor materials
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior management
- Identify and implement process improvements and best-practice controls
Required Experience
- Proven experience within FP&A in a financial services environment
- Some background in building or transforming FP&A functions
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills (Power BI / BI tools a plus) would be a significant plus
- Experience working with imperfect or fragmented data sets
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capability
- Ability to operate independently, with pace and pragmatism
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Comfortable in “roll-up-your-sleeves” situations
- Clear communicator with PE-level professionalism
