Autumnal Partners has been retained on an exclusive basis by a leading global hedge fund to find a Financial Controller to join their finance function in London.

The role

This is a senior, hands-on controllership position sitting at the heart of the firm’s finance team, with ownership of financial control, reporting and oversight of BAU processes, alongside a broader remit to help shape and improve the finance function as it scales.

Core responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the firm’s financial control environment, including month-end close and management accounts
  • Oversight of statutory and regulatory reporting
  • Management of audit relationships and year-end financial statements
  • Review and improvement of financial processes, systems and controls
  • Line management and development of junior finance team members
  • Partnering with COO, CFO and other senior stakeholders on ad-hoc financial and operational matters

What we're looking for

  • c.5-7 years post-qualified experience
  • Financial control experience gained within a hedge fund, asset manager, or financial services environment (Big 4-trained candidates with relevant in-industry experience also considered)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Proven ability to manage and develop junior team members
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to partner with senior stakeholders
