Autumnal Partners is working with an established mid-market private equity fund looking to appoint a Portfolio Reporting Analyst to its portfolio management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong financial analysis skills to move into a commercially focused role, working closely with investment professionals and portfolio company finance teams.
The position offers broad exposure to portfolio performance, valuations, financial reporting and value creation, alongside the opportunity to help modernise reporting processes through automation, data analytics and AI.
Working within the portfolio management function, responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring financial and operational performance across a portfolio of investments, analysing KPIs, budgets, forecasts and management accounts.
- Producing monthly portfolio reporting and identifying trends, risks and areas of underperformance.
- Working directly with portfolio company CFOs, finance teams and investment professionals to improve the quality of financial information.
- Supporting quarterly portfolio valuations, fund reporting and financial analysis.
- Developing dashboards and improving reporting processes through automation, AI and data analytics.
- Supporting portfolio-wide initiatives, benchmarking and value creation projects.
You will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and have a very strong academic record, ideally with a Big Four or comparable practice background. You should possess strong financial analysis skills and an understanding of management accounts, financial performance and KPIs. Also necessary will be Advanced Excel skills and an interest in financial systems, reporting automation and data analytics.
Experience in transaction services, corporate finance, private equity portfolio reporting or valuations would be advantageous, although candidates coming directly from practice will also be considered.
