Looking for a dynamic Residential Care Home Manager to work in our care home in Sandown, Isle of Wight.

Duties:

  • Provide strong leadership skills, supporting, energising, inspiring and empowering others in pursuit of a shared vision to ensure the effective management of the home.
  • Supervise key workers which means:
    • To be actively involved in the individual’s care and helping to plan this care.
    • Ensure key workers have completed all assessments within 24 hours of admission and all care plans are completed within 3 days of admission.
    • Ensure that key workers have evaluated and reviewed all care plans at least monthly or when changes occur.
  • Monitor the performance of all care staff and take the necessary action to manage poor performance, e.g. attendance issues, conduct and behaviour issues.
  • Ensure the resident care is of the highest quality by actively leading the shift and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Liaise with the Home Manager if changes are required in any procedures to ensure the smooth running of the Home and highest quality care is maintained.
  • To provide physical and personal care when needed, ensuring call bells are answered promptly.
  • Ensure that staff implement policies and procedures and work collaboratively with the Multi-disciplinary team and service manager.
  • Ensure residential residents are referred to the District Nursing team with regard to dressings, tissue viability etc.
  • Contribute to the overall quality of the service delivery, by working closely with other members of the staff team, helping promote good practice taking part in staff meetings, and contributing to meeting the objective of the team.
  • Promote dementia care, liaising with dementia link worker(s) to promote training and provide mentorship for care staff.
  • Take part in regular supervision meetings and in activities to meet agreed learning and development needs associated with the job.
  • Deputise for the Home Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home during any absence.
  • Work at all times in accordance with all service policies and procedures, especially Health and Safety and Adult Protection and abuse.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience of working within an elderly residential setting.
  • Educated to a minimum of Level 5 in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
