About the role
Our customers depend on their automation systems to keep operations running. When something needs attention, they need fast, knowledgeable help from someone who cares about getting them back on track. As part of our technical team, you'll be a first point of contact for customers and colleagues experiencing technical issues. - Troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system problems (Windows Server, Linux including Ubuntu, Fedora, and RedHat)
- Support network connectivity, including LAN, VPN, and firewall configurations
- Perform routine maintenance: system updates, patch management, and hardware diagnostics
- Configure and manage network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
- Document solutions clearly so the whole team benefits from shared knowledge
- Communicate with users at all technical levels, translating complex issues into straightforward guidance
- Collaborate with colleagues to escalate and resolve more complex problems efficiently
What you'll bring
- Solid understanding of computer networking (LAN, VPN, firewalls, general troubleshooting)
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems
- Confidence troubleshooting software across different platforms
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira or similar
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical people
- Knowledge of hardware components and diagnostic techniques
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing focus on quality
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when required
- A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn and find better ways of working
- Experience with PostgreSQL is a bonus, but not essential
What you'll get
- Competitive salary
- Pension
- Free parking and a taxi home if you're working late
- Office snacks and refreshments
- A sociable team (past outings have included go-karting, tank paintball, and games nights)
