The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
Responsibilities
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to deliver excellent customer service, drive store performance, and lead by example. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will support store operations including:
- Overall store management and policy implementation
- Financial management, including managing and analyzing P&L statements
- Employee staffing, training, and development
- Inventory management
- Customer service leadership
MITs must complete training, demonstrate progress, and maintain satisfactory performance to remain in the program and be considered for promotion. Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on various factors including performance and openings.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
- Ability to work full-time flexible hours including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required
- Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
