About the job
We're looking for a Senior Account Manager in our New Car product area to join the Sales & Customer Partnerships team in Manchester. In this senior role, you'll help shape our strategy, turn industry insight into meaningful action, and lead through change while driving performance across some of our most important retailer and manufacturer partnerships. You'll work closely with major franchise retailers, manufacturers and internal teams to champion our New Car product. As a trusted partner and consultant, you'll support retailers as they transition while helping establish best practices and performance benchmarks across the wider partnerships community. You'll take ownership of key focus areas, including New Car Stock, Enhanced, Zero Stock and onboarding. You'll spot opportunities and risks in the market, helping partners and Autotrader adapt and grow. Drawing on your understanding of automotive trends, pricing strategies and technical data integrations, you'll build compelling business cases and present recommendations to senior stakeholders, including Franchise Directors and C-suite leaders. Reporting to the Head of Performance (New Car) and working alongside other Account Managers in New Car, you'll also collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across Autotrader to influence decisions, improve ways of working, and remove barriers to progress. By bringing together commercial, product and customer insight, you'll help shape solutions that create value for our partners and improve business outcomes. As a senior member of the team, you'll coach and support colleagues, helping them develop their skills and confidence while contributing to a high-performing team culture, operational process and efficiencies.
What matters most is your ability to build strong strategic relationships, identify new opportunities, deliver commercial outcomes and help others succeed. We're looking for someone who's curious, proactive and solution-focused, with a passion for driving growth and becoming a trusted voice and senior leader in the New Car space.
What we're looking for
- Proven success managing complex strategic B2B accounts, driving performance growth and presenting high-value business cases to executive leadership.
- Experience in strategic account management, customer success leadership or senior performance management in a commercial B2B environment.
- The ability to challenge and influence decisions with internal teams, as well as external C-suite stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen demonstrated through setting team targets and KPIs, managing P&L impact, and proactively mitigating commercial churn.
- Cross-functional leadership and coaching experience, including mentoring peers, trialling tools such as CRM or HubSpot enhancements, and setting operational benchmarks adopted across teams.
- Data storytelling skills, using tools such as Excel or Looker to turn complex retailer trends into strategic recommendations.
During our application process, you will be asked two questions to help us learn more about you and how you align with our values. These will be used as part of our selection criteria to determine if we progress your application further.
Benefits
We’re offering a salary of £45,000 – £60,000, plus an additional 10% of your salary awarded to you in shares each year. These awarded shares will become yours in yearly instalments over the next three years, and you can choose to either sell them or keep them as shares. You'll have 28 days' holiday per year, and that's in addition to bank holidays and half-day closures on Christmas and New Year's Eve. That’s not all. You'll be enrolled in our pension scheme, where our standard contributions are 7% and employee contributions are 5%. We also have comprehensive private medical cover, enhanced family leave provisions, a car salary sacrifice scheme, share-save options, and much more. We always want to give you the support you need and help prioritise your wellbeing, that’s why we provide access to 24/7 online GP and dentist, as well as specialist support for assisted fertility, gender dysphoria, menopause, period care plans and lots more.
On top of all that, our hybrid model, Connected Working, combines the best of both worlds – office and home working. You'll spend a minimum of 3 days a week in the office with your team, focused on collaboration and connection. Additionally, we have our remote-first periods at set times during summer and winter. During these periods, you can work remotely anywhere in the UK and from certain locations abroad. Alongside a wide range of benefits, we'll help you settle in with confidence from day one.
