Business Development Managers,
youll play a key role in growing our retailer network by identifying new opportunities, understanding customer challenges and showing retailers how Auto Trader can help their business perform better. Great sales start with great conversations. Youll use active listening, curiosity and commercial insight to uncover what really matters to our customers, then build tailored solutions that deliver genuine value. Youll be backed by one of the UKs most recognised automotive brands, as well as rich data and insights from our dedicated Insights team. So, while youll have a strong proposition and brand opening doors, itll be your ability to build trust, challenge constructively and demonstrate value that turns opportunities into long-term partnerships. Key Responsibilities Drive new business: Proactively identify, contact and develop new B2B opportunities through targeted outbound activity and phone-based sales. Use data to find opportunities: Make the most of lead-generation data and commercial opportunities identified by our dedicated Insights team. Sell through understanding: Ask the right questions to uncover retailer challenges, understand their needs and recommend solutions that deliver measurable commercial value. Build lasting partnerships: Develop trusted relationships with new customers and turn initial conversations into high-value, long-term commercial partnerships. Own your pipeline: Manage opportunities throughout the sales journey, from initial contact through to conversion, while maintaining a strong focus on your targets and KPIs. What we're looking for Proven success in acquiring new business to business (B2B) customers in a sales role Self-motivated and target-driven, with a consistent history of meeting or exceeding commercial KPIs Experience leveraging market insights or performance data to prove ROI and influence key decision-makers Strong communication skills to navigate pushback and turn friction into collaborative problem-solving During our application process, you will be asked two questions to help us learn more about you and how you align with our values.
