We're recruiting on behalf of a global leader in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance, leasing and operational services, supporting some of the world's busiest airports.
With operations across hundreds of airport locations worldwide, our client delivers specialist maintenance and fleet support services that keep critical airport equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead their Edinburgh operation.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you'll lead a team of 5–10 employees across workshop and airside operations, ensuring maintenance, repairs and operational support activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and motivate workshop and mobile teams.
- Allocate workloads and manage daily operational activity.
- Promote and enforce health and safety best practices.
- Oversee maintenance, repair and breakdown response activities.
- Carry out quality checks and support staff development.
- Maintain accurate records, compliance documentation and system updates.
- Manage tooling, equipment and parts ordering.
- Support performance management, attendance monitoring and disciplinary processes.
- Deputise for the Operations Manager when required.
Requirements
- LGV Level 3 qualification (minimum requirement).
- Minimum 2 years' supervisory or management experience.
- Vehicle maintenance, fleet, logistics or operational transport background.
- Strong understanding of workshop procedures and health & safety regulations.
- Good communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Hours
- Split shifts – 06:00 to 14:30 and 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
- On-call: One week in five, covering 7 days with 2 days off the following week. Flexibility may be required to meet operational needs.
