About the Role
Our client, a well-established independent automotive repair business, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their growing workshop team in Reading.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys working on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service.
Working within a supportive team environment, you'll have the opportunity to utilise your technical expertise across a broad range of mechanical and diagnostic work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
- Work on engines, gearboxes, clutches, brakes, and suspension systems
- Utilise diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle issues
- Complete work efficiently and to manufacturer and industry standards
- Follow workshop procedures and health & safety regulations
- Maintain accurate repair records and job documentation
- Deliver a professional service and support a high standard of customer satisfaction
- Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will have
- A recognised NVQ qualification or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Significant experience as a Vehicle Technician within a workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- A full UK driving licence
- Your own tools
- A professional and customer-focused approach
