The Opportunity:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Technician & Workshop Supervisor to take on a hands-on leadership role within their busy and growing operation. This position combines advanced technical responsibilities with day-to-day workshop supervision, offering the opportunity to influence standards, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults; Take ownership of high-value and technically challenging jobs; Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard; Support quality control across workshop operations.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor apprentices and junior technicians; Lead by example in professionalism, work ethic, and technical standards; Provide guidance and technical support to the wider team; Contribute to building a high-performance workshop culture.
  • Workshop Supervision: Support and deputise for the owner when required; Oversee workshop operations during assigned shifts; Assist with opening, closing, and daily procedures; Work closely with admin teams to manage workflow and productivity.
  • Compliance & Standard: Ensure adherence to health & safety standards; Maintain accurate job records and documentation.

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in vehicle mechanics
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience working across a wide range of vehicles
  • Full UK Driving Licence
